Yahoo! It’s April 27th and we have 27 more days til the great American road trip commences. Mr. Super and I traveled down to McGrath Powersports and picked up these cute little zippy scooters to get us around this summer since we don’t plan on towing a car. They will be nice to have to make a grocery run or take us to a trail head so we don’t have to break camp every time we want to go somewhere around our campsite.
We bought a motorcycle carrier that can hold both of them to hitch to the back of our Orion. Our friend welded a hitch extender/adapter to give us more clearance from the ground so hopefully they’ll stay high and secure as we move on down the road.
Yes, we purchased helmets because, even though my dad didn’t force us to wear them growing up, a depressed skull fracture looks stupider than head protection.
I’ve started a running bet with the fam to see how many miles I’ll put on mine this summer. I’ve already put on 14 miles making a couple shopping trips into town.

I bought some stickers from Wally World to help differentiate between his and hers. The OB/GYN friend I worked with told me it was risky to put “Dr.” on the side so someone doesn’t sue me. Quick fact people: Most newly minted doctors have the lowest net worth in the country (try negative $250k) with nothing but a piece of paper to show for it. Granted, there’s a lot of income earning potential there but studies also show that most doctors live at their means and don’t save any of it! So don’t sue me if I accidentally hit you. You’ll be disappointed – in more ways than one.
Meep! Meep! I’m off to Iceland now and I’m guessing the weather will likely be better than this sleety crud that decided to show up out of nowhere. Definitely not scooter weather! (I might be using that phrase as a gauge more often these days.) This sign is even telling the weather to quit it.
